"The Writing Funk"

I am in a writing funk.  The story I have been working on, Touch,  has hit a brick wall.  The characters are "predictable".  The situation is "predictable".  Kind of like my life...predictable.
However, I was awake almost all last night with a new story idea floating around in my crazy brain.  Why is it that new ideas arrive at 1, 2 and 3 am?  I think my Writing Muse, let's call her Gustine, wakes me up suddenly at the strangest hours and gives me the most outrageous ideas!  I mean, seriously, Gustine!  Just let me rest so I will FEEL like writing during the day!  Whew!
So, once I get over my tiredness, I will attempt to write about Gustine's proposal for an "interesting" story. Until next time...
